Germans in Czechoslovakia (1918–1938) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Germans in Czechoslovakia (1918–1938) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: "From 1918 to 1938, several million ethnic Germans lived in Czechoslovakia as their home was made part of that new state against their will. Since the 12th Century, the Sudeten Germans lived in the Sudetenland which stretched along the border with the German Empire, surrounding the core Czech lands on three sides. Another German ethnic group, the Carpathian Germans, lived in Slovakia.
The most intractable nationality problem in the interwar period - one that played a major role in the destruction of democratic Czechoslovakia - was that of the Germans in the Slavic state."
